Communication Reveals Our Roles Using SAVI as a Map

From the Systems-Centered perspective, roles are seen as living human systems, which means that they are energy-organizing, goal directed and self-correcting. In this workshop we will use SAVI to discover what communication patterns can tell us about these roles. Listening to how we talk to ourselves can give us a clue as to whether we are in a past adaptive survival role, or a present adaptive role.

When we find ourselves communicating from a past adaptive role, SAVI can serve as a map to help us find our way back into our explorer selves, and can give us strategies for communicating our wants, needs, fears, concerns and frustrations in a way that they are more likely to be heard. Through role plays and reflection, we will explore and experiment with these ideas together.
