Artwork by SCTRI members and other items will be displayed throughout the conference. Proceeds go to the Yvonne Agazarian Research Scholar Fund.

Monday Night Dinner

The Monday Night Dinner is an SCT conference tradition that offers attendees time to socialize, make new friends and reconnect with old friends. The dinner will be held at a restaurant near the hotel. Reservations can be purchased in advance for $45. Please use registration form to reserve your seat.

Tuesday Night Sing-Along

The Tuesday Night Sing-Along is a growing tradition with members gathering together playing music, singing, listening and having fun. At the hotel. Tuesday 7:30 - 10:00 pm

Thursday Night Party

This year's theme is Grammy Night! Come dressed as your favorite musician or band - let your imagination be your guide for an evening filled with music, dancing, games, the Silent Auction and FUN!

Hosted by SCTRI at the hotel. Food, fun, cash bar, music by DJ Steve Weinstein, and dancing. Based on the positive response from last year, the Silent Auction will again be extended into the party! Proceeds from the auction & other fundraising activities support the Yvonne Agazarian Research Scholar Fund.

Transportation To & From Airport

Transportation from Airport:

You can fly into San Francisco International Airport (SFO) or Oakland International Airport (OAK). San Francisco is more convenient, Oakland may have lower airfares.

Taxi:

San Francisco:
$40-50. Drive time is 30 minutes.

Oakland:
$55-75. Drive time is 50 minutes.

Public Transportation:

San Francsisco:
$5.35. Board at the BART Air Train station inside airport and take the Pittsburg/Bay Point train line to the Embarcadero Station at Main & Market Streets. Take #1 bus (it runs every 6-8 minutes) to Sacramento & Van Ness. The hotel is 1.5 blocks down Van Ness.

Oakland:
$3.55. Board at the BART Air Train station inside airport and take the Daly City train line to the Embarcadero Station at Main & Market Streets. Take #1 bus (it runs every 6-8 minutes) to Sacramento & Van Ness. The hotel is 1.5 blocks down Van Ness.

San Francsico
Claim your luggage (lower level). Proceed to the upper level and outside to the curb. Follow the SuperShuttle signs to get to the SFO Airport agent (in teal green jackets) and they will arrange your SuperShuttle transportation to your destination. You will wait for your van at Terminal 1 (across from Air Canada) or Terminal 3 across from United door #3.

Oakland
Advanced reservations are required. Upon arrival call the same (800) number, select option 1 and provide your reservation number so we can accommodate you. Please wait for your SuperShuttle van across from Terminal 1, shelter number 3, at the/“Door to Door Reservation” zone.

The conference is being held at the Holiday Inn Golden Gateway Hotel in the heart of San Francisco! Located at 1500 Van Ness Ave., San Francisco, CA, 94109. Phone: (415) 441-4000. Positioned in lower Nob Hill next to the California Street Cable Car turnaround, we provide some of the best accommodations in "the City by the Bay." Fisherman's Wharf, Union Square and the Golden Gate Bridge are all within a few minutes of our downtown San Francisco hotel's location. Continuing Education Information

(For US participants.  Participants from outside the US may wish to check with their local licensing organizations regarding eligibility for CEs.)

Psychologists: The Systems-Centered Training and Research Institute is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. SCTRI maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

Social Workers: This training event has been approved by the National Association of Social Workers, Georgia Chapter (NASW-GA), for a total of up to 40 core CE clock hours for social work licensing purposes. This training event meets the qualifications for continuing education credit on the basis of one credit per instructional hour for LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Marriage and Family Therapists: This training event meets the qualifications for continuing education credit on the basis of one credit per instructional hour for MFCCs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. This training event, pending approval, will meet the qualifications for continuing education credit on the basis of one credit per instructional hour for Massachusetts LMHCs and LMFTs as required by the Commonwealth of Massacusetts Divisio of Professional Licensure. Certified Group Psychotherapists: Institute and conference events may be counted towards re-certification requirements for the National Registry of Certified Group Psychotherapists on a one hour per one CE credit basis. Please note that all CE credit events for CGP re-certification must be in group psychotherapy.

Social Workers, Marriage & Family Therapists and Professional Counselors: Since SCTRI is approved by the APA to sponsor continuing education, licensed social workers, licensed clinical social workers, licensed marriage & family therapists, and licensed professional counselors in many US states will be able to fulfill their continuing education requirement by attending SCTRI continuing education events. Please check with your licensing board.

 

  • To receive CE credits for Large Group, participants must attend all 5 Large Group sessions.
  • The fee for CE credits is $35. Please use registration form to request CEs.
