About Swarthmore
The Conference is being held at Swarthmore College, just 10 miles from the Philadelphia Airport and an easy train ride to Philadelphia’s restaurants and attractions. Swarthmore’s 425-acre arboretum campus has rolling lawns, flowering trees, a stunning rose garden and wooded creekside trails. The town of Swarthmore features a co-op grocery store with plenty of fresh and prepared organic foods, as well as a handful of restaurants and shops. Additional restaurants and shopping can be found in the nearby Springfield Mall (about a 20-minute walk from campus), or in nearby Media (accessible by car or train).
WiFi Access
All participants have access to the wireless network through the SSID SwatGuest. Registration for an account is required. Self-service guest accounts are good for 4 days. For longer stays, a new account can be created after the initial one expires.
Accommodations
The 2026 Annual Conference is on the Swarthmore College campus in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, in the Greater Philadelphia area. You are free to choose your accommodations – on campus or in the community!
Dormitory Rooms in the Danawell Residence Hall (Different Residence from last year)
All our dorm rooms are located in the Danawell Residence Hall on the Swarthmore campus. Each floor has 8-10 sleeping rooms so approximately 4-5 people will be sharing bathroom and shower facilities. (There are separate male and female toilets and showers on each floor.) All bathrooms and shower facilities are communal (shared) with private toilet stalls and each shower has a curtain.
All rooms can accommodate one or two people and the fee is $75 per person, per night. All beds are extra-long and include a top and bottom sheet, a pillow and pillowcase, a blanket and a towel. Danawell is air conditioned.
Danawell is located on the southeast side of the campus, not far from Clothier Hall where the Large Group is held. The rooms have windows and shades, closets (no hangers), a desk, a dresser and shelves. There are no decorations on the walls. There is a windowed lounge facing Crum Woods on each floor and a large lounge on the first floor next to a large kitchen. The kitchen does not include pots and pans, utensils, plates or cups. There is no coffee maker or electric kettle for water. However, we are looking into getting minimal kitchenware and will keep those interested in dorm living updated on what we obtain.
